Impact Stories
I Wish Someone Had Talked to Me
It took years before I could buy my own period products without feeling embarrassment. I hope that others are able to find resources like The Period Pantry so that they don’t ever have to.
A Simple Bag That Changed Everything
When I opened the kit from The Period Pantry, I cried. It wasn’t just the supplies — it was the reminder that someone out there cares. I didn’t feel alone anymore.
Who We Are
The Period Pantry Project was founded in January 2020 to address a critical gap: consistent access to period products in Franklin County. Co-founders Jill Guinan and Melanie Saunders started the organization after recognizing how difficult it can be for individuals and families to access essential menstrual supplies.
What began as a simple idea has grown into a community-powered effort with hundreds of volunteers and partners across the city. Together, we work to end period poverty, reduce stigma, and ensure that anyone who needs menstrual products can access them.
